Hello again to all the Bangalow Sweet Pork ® lovers out there. I have been a bit quiet on the newsletter front since our last edition in February 2005. Plenty has been happening during the intervening period. I’m back again now to bring you up to date. Melbourne Butcher and Restaurants At last we have arrived in Melbourne and on schedule. Our first Melbourne butcher had his first pig delivered on 26th April 2005. Details below:
We have had quite a few Melbourne butchers contact us over the last 6 weeks since doing a mail out. The response is quite encouraging. We expect our Melbourne butchers to increase slowly as butchers have increased slowly and steadily in every other area we have opened up in the past. Now that we have the delivery arrangements in place we expect we should be in a position to deliver into most suburbs of the Melbourne metropolitan area on a regular basis. Let us know if you have a good quality butcher in your area and we will ask you to assist us to establish new outlets. Perth and district We have had many visitors to our Website form the West. This is very encouraging to us. The logistics for Perth are a little more complex, however it is all do-able. The only thing that isn’t in my terms is slamming a revolving door. So we will commence working on it. Firstly we will need to find a distributor, then with your assistance we will identify a core of top quality butchers to start the ball rolling. As with Melbourne we will ask the help of consumers to get us into the picture with
United States We have had an incredible number of visitors to our Website from the US. This exercise is a whole lot trickier, but once again it is do-able. The majority of our visitors are from the West Coast, particularly California. We encourage all those with a genuine interest from where in the US, to contact us so that we can commence a feasibility study. We have had a few consumers already contact us. Give it some thought and drop us a line. Japan We have been working with a Japanese distributor since August 2004. While there are many details to be put in place, we expect to commence some consumer taste trials in October/November 2005. A way to go yet but we already have reports that Bangalow Sweet Pork ® is far better than any pork available in Japan. Even better than the famous Kurubota Pork. We believe it because we have tasted some of the Kurubota (black pork) which is being exported from Australia to Japan. It does not compare with the eating quality, flavour, tenderness texture and juiciness of Bangalow Sweet Pork ®. Arrangements are coming into place. The supply chain is almost ready and we have even developed a draft Website translated into Japanese in preparation for our launch of the product later in 2005. Dubai As luck would have it a chef who was formerly the Executive at a large five star hotel on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, (and a great fan of Bangalow Sweet Pork ®), has taken up the position of Executive Chef at a large resort in Dubai. He said to us before his departure, “How will I get my supplies of Bangalow Sweet Pork ® when I reach Dubai, I cannot run a first class catering service if I do not have Bangalow Sweet Pork ®. These arrangements are also coming together nicely and we would expect to have our product there later in 2005. This Dubai resort has 28 restaurants. In the pipeline We have just commenced the early stages of arrangements to move our product into the Maldives and Sri Lanka. We really do believe the comments by international commentators, such as, chefs, smallgoodsmen, and foodwriters, that Bangalow Sweet Pork ® is the best eating quality pork available in the world today. This was our target when we set out on this rather long journey. The longest journey starts with a single step. Thanks to the support of our avid fans, that first step seems a long way behind us now.
